Author, Natalie Kile, presents the life of Nat Lowndes through a mix of interviews with Nat herself, photographs, researched narrative, and interviews with people close to Nat – including Bev Brock, Helen Lowndes (Craig Lowndes’ Mum), Flav (Nat’s best friend), and more.
From Nat’s early adventures and experiences that shaped her, through meeting her husband, behind the scenes of the V8 motorsport industry, incredible fan anecdotes, starting a family, her connection with the land and buying her dream property with a ‘big arse trampoline’, the breakdown of Australia’s golden couple, a trip around Australia with her son and daughter, and life after V8 motorsport, one thing has remained constant–Natalie Lowndes’ absolute love of horses, one in particular.
Natalie Lowndes is a proud bogan. She describes reverently what that word means to her. She’s also generous, fierce, game, intelligent and witty. But the impression that lingers after you turn the last page is the thoughtfulness that Nat demonstrates to others.
This book itself is an example of Nat’s generosity and thoughtfulness. Responding to a random request by author, Natalie Kile, and spurred on by consistent requests from friends and social media followers over the years, Nat Lowndes allowed the author into her close space to enable this book. Nat Lowndes is taking no proceeds from the sale of Just Nat – instead the author is donating a portion of sales to Nat Lowndes’ favourite charities.

About the Author:
Author Natalie Kile has a Bachelor of Journalism from Qld University of Technology. While working as a freelance journalist to get a ‘foot in the door’, she trained as a Motorcycle Instructor to pay the bills. At 24-years-old, she was hit by a car and would spend the next year in recovery, sustaining injuries until today. Her career took a different trajectory – Business Admin, Mystery Shopper and Queensland manager of Motoring Women where her tasks included teaching women how to change tyres. As a teenager she loved cars and bikes, a love that’s never left her. She has since become a mother of two beautiful children. One morning, she woke up with a life-altering thought; she decided to go back to her first ever job – making people laugh and telling good stories. She reached out to Nat Lowndes, and now here we are!

I had the luck to have an early reading copy of Just Nat, and it’s one of the best biographies I’ve ever read. Even if you don’t know anything about car racing, I recommend this book just because Nat herself is great to hear from. Just wanted to say, what a fantastic read! Every bit of it. I also absolutely respect and enjoyed Bev Brock’s story. Wowee, your book arrived this morning and I haven’t put it down. There’s a lot to take in. It’s so well written that I feel like I know enough about Natalie Lowndes, the things she holds dear, and her values, that I could have an in-depth conversation with her even though I’m a stranger. One thing I’ve come to realise, she (and Craig Lowndes for that matter) have such an amazing ability to keep that smile on, no matter what’s happening inside, and the ability to smile and make others feel okay, even when they’re not.

A great story that is told well by the Author/ writer. It was easy to read, mostly I laughed but my heart broke a few times too. Very much recommend . It was written without bitchiness or attention seeking.
